How to play Streak
Streak is a fill logic puzzle. Each row and each column has a clue that tells you the length of its filled run. Every row and column may contain only one unbroken run of filled tiles, and all filled tiles on the board must join into one connected shape.
It is related to nonogram-style picture puzzles, but with a single run per line and a connectivity rule, Streak boards stay short and focused. Most boards take four to seven minutes.
Streak strategy tips
Use overlap on long runs
If a run is longer than half its line, some middle tiles must be filled wherever the run sits. Fill those overlap tiles first.
Rule out cells with short clues
A short run cannot reach far. Once part of a short run is fixed, cells too far away from it in that line must stay empty.
Keep the shape connected
All filled tiles must touch through their edges. A run that would be cut off from the rest of the shape cannot be placed there.
Work back and forth
Every new filled or empty cell gives information to the crossing line. Alternate between rows and columns to keep making progress.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Splitting a line into two separate runs; each line allows only one unbroken run.
- Creating two separate shapes that both match the clues but do not connect.
- Filling cells by guesswork instead of from overlaps and eliminations.
